Shy Bladder Center
Welcome to the official Shy Bladder Center! The Shy Bladder Center (SBC) is a project of the International Paruresis Association (IPA) established to provide resources for individual treatment and psychosocial educational groups for people suffering from paruresis, or shy bladder syndrome.
On this site, you will find information about SBC workshops offered across the world, individual treatment with SBC therapists for this disorder, and support groups happening all over the planet for people with paruresis.
Please consider coming to an SBC workshop. It is the best way to begin your recovery from this very treatable social phobia. Ongoing practice with a support group can also begin or continue your recovery.
If you are looking for a therapist in your area who can help you overcome your paruresis, we recommend that you consider doing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which is very effective in treating phobias of all kinds including paruresis. The best resources for locating a CBT therapist in your area would be to go to either the Anxiety Disorders Association of America's website (www.adaa.org) or the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies website (www.abct.org).
If you have any questions about the SBC, please call, write or send email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
